Retexture

Beginning with revision [31] (release 0.3.4), Quetoo's GL renderer supports loading .tga textures for Bmodels (world, players, ..), and so we've started replacing the baseq2 textures.

Periodic builds of this project can be found here and here. Place the extracted pak8.pak where Quetoo will find it (e.g. ~/.quake2/baseq2).

These textures are also known to work with AprQ2 and R1GL.

This effort is based on the work of the following projects: Quake2Max, Quake2Evolved, Echon.org, SIN Raven, and Tosher. If you use these textures, please visit their websites and express your thanks. This project seeks no recognition for other people's work. It is nothing more than an honest attempt to bring the very best game textures to Quake II.

Currently, 1506/2112 textures (71.3%) from baseq2 have been replaced. Contributions are quite welcome, and source files for the project (including textures, tools, and build files) can be obtained via Subversion. This is only recommended if you wish to create or edit textures.
