I've been messing with the latest Windows snapshot today, and I noticed that the icon is old, doesn't size well, and has no alpha. I took your new logo and made an icon from it. Preview: Sizes and depth include [48|32|16]^2 and [32|16|8] bpp for XP, and also 256^2 at 32 bpp for Vista. Download (.ico in .zip): |
As Jay mentioned, I've been working on a new icon. This was mostly because I thought the current one looked terrible under Mac OS, and I can't really be having that if it's going in my dock.
This is what it looks like so far.
And in the dock.
Unfortunately, I can only make icon packages for Mac OS, so if you know how to make Windows icons, I can send you the source PSDs or PNGs for the icon resolutions (512, 256, 128, 32, and 16px sizes). You should be able to use the 128px image to create the 48px image for XP, and the 256x256 should be fine unchanged.
I also have a 3D version of the icon I'm working on, but it's still a work in progress at the moment (wrapping the logo around a globe nicely is easier said than done).
Sexy sex.
Noel has been tinkering with some new icons as well, I'll point him at this thread.
