prtsync \- Merge several \fBhttpup(8)\fP repositories to a centralized collection.

\fBprtsync [options] command\fP

.SH DESCRIPTION
\fBprtsync\fP aims to simplify the process of maintaining and sharing CRUX
Linux ports.  Ports are build scripts for creating CRUX packages via \fBpkgmk(8)\fP.
At one end, \fBprtsync\fP serves as a tagging mechanism for port authors to 
indicate which of their ports to share.  Port authors need only to then host an 
\fBhttpup(8)\fP repository containing their ports, and tell a CLC maintainer
about it.  At the other end, \fBprtsync\fP cleanly and safely collects and merges 
shared ports from specified repositories, using \fBhttpup(8)\fP for transport.

.SH OPTIONS

.B -i
When used with the \fBmerge\fP command, \fBprtsync\fP will skip, or ignore, 
tag files.  All ports will be merged.  This is sometimes helpful 
when dealing with older \fBhttpup(8)\fP repositories.  To make this the default 
behavior, adjust \fIignore_tag_files\fP in \fI/etc/prtsync.conf\fP.

.B -a
When used with the \fBmerge\fP command, \fBprtsync\fP will archive the
newly created repository to \fI$destination/TARBALL\fP.  This archive can 
be used to suppliment initial checkouts, and may later be built into 
\fBports(8)\fP and \fBhttpup(8)\fP.  To make this the default behavior, adjust
\fIuse_archive\fP in \fI/etc/prtsync.conf/fP.

.SH COMMANDS

.B tag [collection]
Tag or untag ports in the specified collection (directory), or in the current working
directory (\fI./\fP).  \fBprtsync\fP prompts for each port within the collection, suggesting
a default action of keeping the current tag status.

.B sync
Retrieve tagged ports from all collections specified in \fI/etc/prtsync/*.httpup\fP.  
\fBprtsync\fP uses slightly modified, backwards compatible, \fBhttpup(8)\fP driver files:

.B merge
Merges the most recently synced ports to a destination.  If more than one 
version of the same port are present, neither are included in the destination, 
and notification emails to the affected authors are sent.  Synced ports appearing 
in CRUX's \fIbase\fP and \fIopt\fP collections are also excluded in the destination.

Would tag all ports in \fI~/my/ports\fP for sharing.

.B prtsync sync && prtsync merge
Would first sync and then merge the collections specified in \fI/etc/prtsync/*.httpup\fP.
These commands are kept separate because sometimes it may be desirable to only 
sync ports, or only re-merge what was previously synced.

Defines where the \fBhttpup(8)\fP driver files reside, where the merged ports should 
reside, and other configuration variables.
